Fring

FringHas anybody tried Fring yet? According to their site: “fring™ uses your mobile internet connection to make peer-to-peer VoIP calls, send instant messages and talk with VoIP applications such as Skype, Google Talk , MSN Messenger and SIP at no extra cost.”

This sounds great, no!

    Hi

Ya I downloaded it last month and it’s very impressive. I am interested to see where they go next, as http://www.barablu.com seems to offer much of the same service with a call out feature too.

Hi Martin, I just checked your website! Indeed they seem to offer about the same. Really interesting to see where this goes. I watch it primarily because of the link with Windows Live Messenger of course and if there is one difference I saw, it is that Fring support Messenger and you don’t, don’t you?

I use fring on my N73 (don’t need Wi-Fi) to talk AND chat for free especially to family & friends overseas :). Yes, it works great with Skype, GoogleTalk, Windows Live Messenger and also SIP apps.

I’m convinced. I’m downloading right now and let you know my experiences. Thanks for the feedback Rashi and Martin!

OK, I’m less convinced now… my handset is not supported yet and I’m afraid Qtek’s will not be in their priorities in their roadmap! Damn
