That’s not an easy one. I would look for a good agency to come up with ideas and choose the best ;-) If however you are in an agency I would look for the ideas that fit the strategy the most (and of course the brand). If the tag is “don’t let the monster out” and it’s young people you can do some crazy stuff of course that get them to spread the word: Monsters in shopping Malls scaring people, Monsters in the train/bus/tram making, etc…
Do you have any legal limitations on what you are able to do? Can you do sampling, for instance?

I’d go for something that flips the thought on it’s head. Something that supresses the monster inside you. Straightjacket, frontal lubotomy or Jeckyl & Hyde type stuff. Don’t know exactly what that is though(?)

    Hey Nadia,

It’s interesting to know you’re asking for Neuralgin activation ideas because this year, our agency did the activation for them.

Are you wokring with a marcomm agency or are you a student doing this for a project?

Nevertheless, what we did was something very simple, an idea that people in Indonesia’s “value” segment would understand and which would engage them without being forced to.

Since the concept was “Don’t let your monster out”, we focused on the strategic call-to-action and role of the product, i.e., Neuralgin is not a preventive product but a curative one. In other words, it doesn’t prevent a headache, it only cures one.

Therefore, we felt that “Don’t” is a preventive term and it wouldn’t resonate well or naturally with people here. Moreover, “Letting a monster out” refers to a change of character, not just mood which we also felt was a bit hard for people to digest or believe.

What would be credible, however, would be that once they experience a headache, they do feel agitated and have a desire to kill or destroy - the headache, that is.

Therefore, we came up with the platform that you might not be able to prevent the monster from coming out (i.e, control your reaction) but you can subdue it by consuming Neuralgin. Therefore, our activation idea was “Tranquilize your monster!”

We implemented this by doing a roadshow in the client’s preferred cities and target areas (local markets, residential areas, outside schools and malls). We used a Neuralgin-branded Suzuki APV car, invited people to buy the product or just know about it and then we had a man dressed as a monster jump out of the van surprising the customer and, in fact, scaring her a little.

Our SPG’s job was to pretend as if the situation could still be controlled and hand over a massive water gun to the customer immediately and ask her to shoot the monster. If the customer succeeded, the monster would act as if he was being tranquilized and fall at the feet of the customer and she would win a prize and if not, the monster would come and lay his hands around her head as a sign of his victory.

So what do you think of this?

    Cheers
    Yousuf
